Important changes to your Tesco home phone service

From the 1st September, we are also making some other changes to our prices and the way we charge for our services.
Although we are now offering these great new talk plan prices, we appreciate that some customers may wish to change their mind about Tesco home phone. If you wish to stay with Tesco home phone then you will automatically benefit from the talk plan price cuts or if you are a Talk 1 customer, the Free Weekend calls, from the 1st August. All other changes will take effect from the 1st September.

Getting rid of our minimum call charge
From 1st September 2007, we will be removing our minimum call charge of 5p.
Connection Charge
From 1st September 2007, we will introduce a one-off connection charge of 6p per call. The connection charge will apply to national and local geographic calls, premium rate calls, non-geographic calls (e.g. 0845, 0870, 0844 etc.), international calls, landline to mobile calls and duration based premium rate service calls. The connection charge will not apply to the inclusive calls that are part of Tesco home phone Talk 1, Talk 2 and Talk 3 packages or evening calls to local/national geographic numbers for Talk 1 customers.
Per Minute Billing
From 1st September 2007, we will be moving from per second to per minute billing.
UK daytime landline rates
From 1st September 2007, the rate for daytime calls to UK landlines will increase from 2.8p per min (ppm) to 3ppm.
Time of day charging for UK Mobile & 0845, 0870 Non-geographic calls
From 1st September 2007, the way Tesco home phone charges for UK mobile and 0845, 0870 non-geographic calls will move from a Daytime-Evening-Weekend rates structure to a simple Daytime (6am-6pm) and Evening (6pm-6am) rates structure. This means if you make a call at 10am on Saturday, you will be charged at the daytime rate.
Changes to rates for calls to mobiles
From 1st September 2007, landline to mobile rates in the UK will change to a flat rate across networks of 12ppm in the Daytime and 7ppm in the Evening for Talk 1 & 2 customers and 8.5ppm in the Daytime and 4.5ppm in the Evening for Talk 3 customers (excluding calls to the ‘3’ network, please visit www.tescohomephone.com for rates).
Changes in rates to 0845 and 0870 numbers
From 1st September 2007, calls to 0845 numbers will change from 3.6ppm in the Daytime, 1.2ppm in the Evening and 1ppm at the Weekend to 2ppm in the Daytime and 0.5ppm in the evening 7 days a week, whilst 0870 calls will change from 7.5p /3.9p / 1.75ppm to 6p / 1.5ppm.
